Soulforge
The Soulforge is an account-level equipment enhancement system that lets you permanently boost the stats on each of your 7 equipment slots. Enhancements persist across all characters and prestige resets, making the Soulforge one of the most powerful long-term progression systems in the game.
The Soulforge is discovered randomly once you reach Prestige 15 (P15). The discovery chance increases with each prestige rank above 15, so higher prestige means faster discovery. Once found, the Soulforge is permanently unlocked for your account.
Discovery is blocked while you're in a dungeon, fishing, or playing a challenge minigame.
The Soulforge enhances your equipment slots, not individual items. Each of the 7 equipment slots (Weapon, Armor, Helmet, Gloves, Boots, Amulet, Ring) can be enhanced from +0 to +10. The enhancement level applies a stat multiplier to whatever item is currently equipped in that slot.

Key points:
- Levels +1 through +4 are guaranteed successes with no risk
- Starting at +5, each attempt can fail, costing you prestige ranks with nothing to show for it
- Failed attempts at +5 through +9 drop you back one level
- Failed attempts at +10 drop you back two levels
- Enhancement costs are paid in prestige ranks regardless of success or failure
- Failed enhancements at +5 and above award consolation Stormglass (5-75 depending on target level)
For enhancement levels +5 and above, you can choose the Soul Tithe option on the confirmation screen. Soul Tithe guarantees 100% success by paying a higher prestige rank cost:

Soul Tithe is not available for +1 through +4 (already 100% success). For +5 through +10 you can pay Soul Tithe for a guaranteed success -- but the cost climbs steeply (750 PR at +10).
Toggle between standard and Soul Tithe with the Left/Right arrow keys on the confirmation screen.
The safe zone (+1 to +4) gives you a solid 1.20x multiplier with zero risk. Beyond that, you can choose your approach:
- +5 to +7 (70-40% success, or Soul Tithe for guaranteed): Moderate risk with a safety net. Soul Tithe is recommended for +7 where the 40% success rate makes standard attempts expensive on average.
- +8 to +9 (30-20% success): High risk. A guaranteed Soul Tithe path exists (25 PR at +8, 85 PR at +9), but gambling the standard attempt is far cheaper if luck holds. Expect multiple failures if you roll the dice.
- +10 (10% success, -2 on failure): The ultimate push. You can guarantee it with Soul Tithe for a hefty 750 PR, or gamble the 10% standard attempt. Either way, achieving +10 on even one slot is a major accomplishment.
Enhanced equipment glows with different colors in the UI to show its enhancement level:

The Soulforge appears as an overlay in the game (similar to Haven). From the Soulforge screen:
- Select a slot to enhance
- Confirm the enhancement (shows success rate and cost)
- Watch the hammering animation as the forge works
- See the result -- success or failure, with the new level shown
Enhance all 7 slots to +4. This costs 4 PR per slot (28 PR total) with zero risk, giving you a 1.20x multiplier on every equipment slot. This is the most efficient enhancement strategy by far.
Push to +5, +6, or +7 using Soul Tithe for guaranteed success. This eliminates the randomness at the cost of more prestige ranks:
- +5 via Soul Tithe: 4 PR (vs. 2 PR at 70%)
- +6 via Soul Tithe: 6 PR (vs. 3 PR at 55%)
- +7 via Soul Tithe: 8 PR (vs. 3 PR at 40%)
The Soul Tithe path to +7 costs 18 PR per slot (4+6+8 for +5/+6/+7) plus 4 PR for +1 through +4, totaling 22 PR with zero risk of failure.
Going for +8, +9, or +10 requires patience and a large prestige rank stockpile. If you gamble on the standard attempts, each failure costs prestige ranks AND drops your level, so you may need many attempts. If you want certainty, Soul Tithe guarantees success at every level -- but the price climbs steeply (25 PR at +8, 85 PR at +9, and 750 PR at +10). The payoff at +10 (2.50x multiplier) is enormous; the choice is really PR-vs-risk -- pay a lot for a sure thing, or roll the dice and hope to get lucky for less.
Due to failure penalties setting you back, the expected prestige rank cost to reach high enhancement levels is much higher than the base cost:
- +4: 4 PR (guaranteed)
- +7 (Soul Tithe): 22 PR (guaranteed, zero risk)
- +7 (standard): Roughly 15-25 PR on average (accounting for failures)
- +10: Can exceed 100+ PR on average for a single slot
As you enhance your equipment, the Stats panel gains animated visual effects that intensify with your total enhancement level across all 7 slots:
- Background tint: A faint glow in the enhancement tier color (white, yellow, magenta, or gold) fills the Equipment panel background
- Heat line: A glowing line at the bottom of the panel, brighter as total enhancement increases
- Rising motes: Animated particles drift upward from the base of the panel. Mote size and color evolve with enhancement tier -- small dots at low levels, glowing symbols at high levels. At +8 and above, motes leave fading trails behind them
The Equipment panel title also shows your enhancement power contribution: Equipment ⚡{base}+{bonus}, where the bonus reflects the total stat boost from Soulforge enhancements across all slots. Each equipped item displays its base power alongside its enhancement bonus, color-coded by enhancement tier.
- Start with +4 on everything. It's free value -- guaranteed success, low cost, 1.20x on all slots.
- Enhance your Weapon first. Damage multipliers have the biggest combat impact.
- Don't chase +10 early. The prestige ranks are better spent on Haven rooms until you have a strong Haven foundation.
- Track your stats. The Soulforge shows your total attempts, successes, and failures.
- Enhancement is permanent. Slot enhancements never reset, even on prestige. Your +7 Weapon stays +7 forever.
