Quest Wiki

Quest is a terminal-based idle RPG where your hero automatically battles enemies, gains XP, levels up, explores dungeons, and prestiges -- all from the comfort of your terminal.

What Is Quest?

You create a character, pick a name, and watch them grow. Combat happens automatically: your hero fights enemies, earns XP, levels up, and collects equipment. As you progress through zones, the enemies get tougher, the loot gets better, and new systems unlock. When you hit a wall, you prestige to reset your level but keep permanent bonuses that make your next run stronger.

Quest is designed to run in the background. Leave it going while you work, check back later, and see how far your hero has gotten. The game even calculates offline progress when you close and reopen it.

Endgame Path

The ultimate goal is to forge the Stormbreaker, a legendary weapon needed to conquer Storm Citadel and unlock the infinite post-game zone, The Expanse. Beyond The Expanse, The Deep mercenary expeditions unlock six fracture chapters (Zones 12-30), each requiring the Ascension combat multiplier system to survive. At the very end, opening the Gateway at Deep Layer 30 unlocks the Loom of Worlds -- a Factorio-style resource production chain system. The journey from the Meadow to mending the Loom spans hundreds of prestige cycles and the full depth of every system Quest offers. Beyond the Loom, Ascension VII-X unlocks Loom zones (Z31-50) -- 20 additional zones of escalating difficulty that push your power multiplier from 96x all the way to 324x. See the Strategy Guide for the full path.
