Sprint 1 Meetings
Overview
These meetings are for Intro to Software Engineering at Mississippi State University. These meetings should be happening about 2 times per week (including the lab that comes with the class) and are centered around a class project to design and develop an e-commerce platform. The members of the group having these meetings are Brayden Mendez, Thomas Nguyen, Nina Miles, Charles Lenson, and AJ Fletcher.
Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 4:15 PM to 5:30 PM
Our group came together at 4:15 pm and first talked about how we would start to sprint 1 through the grading criteria. We went to Github to start a READme.md file where we put our names, Github usernames, roles, and the language and techniques we will use. Our group also finalized who in our group will be on the Front End Development team and Back End Development team. The Front End Development team and Back End Development team then decided what programming languages they would use. After this, we discussed what type of website or web application we would make. One idea was to develop a trading card website to mainly sell cards to the user. We chose whether we were building a website or a web application, and our choice was to build a website since it would be a much easier path. Then we looked at the template and discussed some of the base functionalities <login, userID, etc.> and things we need in our website before we start the template. Finally, we all agreed and decided to look at the SRS template individually. The next time we come together, which is next Monday at 3:30 pm at class time, we will put together our ideas and figure out what we will put in the template.
Monday, February 3, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
As we started our discussion, two of the members of our team started on the SRS template while we discussed what to write. We all looked over the overall description together and agreed that everything under that subject is great! Other than that we finalized our website concept and named it “EZ-Watch”. We agreed that this specific website will be similar to Ebay where the sellers post their items and the buyers will buy it, but it will be more of a global website. Each of us then worked on different parts of the Introduction. After we were all done with the Introduction, we agreed to have our next meeting at 4:15 on Wednesday.
Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4:15 PM to 5:20 PM
In this meeting we plan to end our template, first off starting with discussing our system features (like login, password, etc.) and what advanced features we could use like the search features, friend features, and post features to further our websites potential. We also talked through what our nonfunctional requirements should look like as far as performance requirements, safety requirements, and security requirements and agreed that we were done and were ready to present it and see if we can make any fixes to our SRS document at the next meeting Monday at 3:30pm.
Monday, February 10, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM
We came into class and presented what we planned so far in hopes that there would not be too many changes. The presentation went smoothly with only a few mistakes. One of the only problems we ran into was the lack of detail on some parts to our User Interface. In our GitHub, we only needed a little bit more of our personal information like our student id and email. Lastly, we needed to make a wiki document with all our previous meeting information. We agreed that tomorrow at 5:30pm we will proofread and make these changes to turn it in.
Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM
This meeting was centered around the small details we missed in our SRS document before the presentation. We added the missing information to our Github and agreed to get rid of the "Friends" section in our document. We then split up the duties of the typing up the meeting wiki and fixing the user interface details.
