Summary

Retry synchronous local image generation using the configured scheduler max attempts.
Preserve attempt numbers on backend requests and keep the default sync path single-attempt unless configured.

Test plan

go test ./internal/cli ./cmd/imgen
go test ./...
go build -o ./imgen ./cmd/imgen
