I’m Stijn van Hannen, a developer from Utrecht with a love for clean, maintainable code and complex interdisciplanery projects.
I enjoy working on full-stack projects, tinkering with new technologies, and building software that make a difference.
Here are a few of my publicly available projects:
My thesis project utilizing mobile phone call data and Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) to model and predict human mobility displacement patterns, using the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake as a case study. The Python-based codebase compares the GCN's predictive performance against traditional models like ARIMA and historical averages.
A side-project called Movie Matcher. It's a website for a group of people to find movies they all would like to watch. The recommendation engine suggests movies based on content similarity to movies individuals/groups have liked by analyzing both plot descriptions and metadata like genre and cast.
A website developed for the catering of an local hockey club Kampong. It has a clean design and provides functionality to book/reserve
