Simon Fuchs 👋

I am a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. My research studies how transportation networks, trade, and the spatial distribution of economic activity shape regional and aggregate economic outcomes.

Research interests

  • Spatial, urban, and transportation economics
  • International trade, shipping, and supply chains
  • Infrastructure, congestion, and economic resilience

I build quantitative economic models and combine them with detailed geospatial, transportation, and trade data. My current projects examine multimodal freight networks, container ports, supply-chain disruptions, tariffs and consumer prices, and urban welfare.
