The livestock show management platform that county fairs deserve but definitely don't have yet
ShowRing Pro handles the full lifecycle of competitive livestock exhibitions — from breed class entry validation through judge scheduling, real-time placings, and official results export. It knows the difference between a Duroc barrow and a Hampshire gilt, and it will not let you pretend otherwise. County fairs have been running this operation on decade-old spreadsheets and I am done watching them suffer for it.
- Breed class entry validation with species, sex, and age cross-checking that rejects bad data at submission time
- Judge conflict-of-interest engine checks against over 340 known exhibitor-judge relationship types before finalizing any assignment
- Real-time placing and ribbon ledger with live leaderboard updates across all open classes simultaneously
- Prize money disbursement with full audit trail, payment splits, and 4-H record book export in one click
- Official results packages formatted to state fair association spec. No reformatting. No manual entry.

ShowRing Pro is built on a microservices backbone with each domain — entries, judging, results, disbursements — running as an isolated service behind an internal API gateway. The ribbon ledger and real-time placing engine are backed by MongoDB for its flexible transaction throughput across concurrent class updates. Session state and long-term exhibitor history live in Redis, which gives sub-millisecond reads for anything the judging interface needs to surface mid-class. The whole thing deploys to a single VPS and I prefer it that way.
