Wildfire defensible space inspection tracking and risk scoring for insurance underwriting
ClearZone Underwrite is an early-stage prototype aimed at insurance carriers writing policies in fire-risk zones. The concept: automate the collection of defensible space compliance data per parcel, score it, and surface that score directly inside underwriting workflows — replacing manual inspection chasing with structured data. It is a working concept, not a production system.
- Track clearance status for the 0–30ft and 30–100ft defensible space zones per parcel
- Schedule and record wildfire defensible space inspections
- Generate a per-parcel compliance score tied to zone clearance status
- Feed risk scores into policy eligibility decisions for underwriters
- Sync inspection records from municipal fire departments
Municipal fire department inspection records are the intended external data source in the concept design. No third-party services are wired up in the current prototype.
The project is structured as a single-application prototype. It models parcels, inspection records, zone clearance states, and risk scores as core data entities. No external databases, microservices, or production infrastructure are present at this stage.
