SafeScape 🌍🛡️

Community Safety & Accessibility Reporting Map

SafeScape is a global, offline-first web platform that helps people identify unsafe, inaccessible, or dangerous streets — especially for women, night travelers, tourists, and people with disabilities.

Unlike traditional map apps that focus on distance and speed, SafeScape focuses on human safety.

🚨 The Problem

Street-level danger is invisible.

  • People often don’t know which streets are unsafe at night or in unfamiliar cities
  • Accessibility issues (potholes, missing ramps, poor lighting) are ignored by most maps
  • Tourists and migrants walk blindly into high-risk zones due to lack of hyperlocal data
  • Internet connectivity is unreliable in many regions — yet safety apps depend on it

💡 The Solution

SafeScape provides a street-level safety intelligence layer on top of maps:

🔹 Key Features

  • Live Safety Map

    • Crime-prone zones
    • Unsafe areas for women at night
    • Poorly lit streets, broken roads, accessibility hazards
  • Community-Powered Reporting

    • Users can mark real incidents: harassment, dark streets, potholes, unsafe corners
    • Reports are visualized instantly for others
  • Offline-First Architecture

    • Cached maps and safety data work without internet
    • Designed for remote areas and signal-dead zones
  • AI-Powered Safe Routes (v2)

    • Suggests the safest route, not just the shortest
    • Uses crime data + community signals

🧠 Innovation

  • AI-powered street safety scoring
  • Hyperlocal insights down to specific streets and corners
  • Visual heatmaps for instant risk understanding
  • Crowdsourced, real-time incident intelligence
  • Accessibility-aware navigation
