Maureen Doyle-Spare

Maureen Doyle-Spare is an independent AI governance researcher at Doyle-Spare Research and the originator of a pioneering runtime governance architecture and foundational reasoning-layer risk taxonomy for agentic AI. Through her connected body of published research, formal architecture, and executable specification work, she is emerging as a distinctive voice in runtime governance and agentic AI risk mitigation for autonomous and multi-agent enterprise deployments.

The thesis

Agentic AI systems do not fail in the same way traditional models fail. Traditional AI governance commonly evaluates model performance and outputs after inference or execution. An agentic system can execute flawless steps against meaning no institution authorized. Doyle-Spare's work moves governance to the pre-execution reasoning layer, where agents interpret meaning across fragmented enterprise systems and commit to it before they act. Her architecture provides a practical blueprint for enterprise and high-assurance deployment across sectors, with domain-specific calibration and validation.

Originated frameworks and constructs

  • Doyle-Spare Agentic Governance Model (AGM): the governance model for the reasoning layer of autonomous, agentic AI.
  • Agentic Workflow Drift (AWD): cumulative semantic divergence across an agentic workflow, including unapproved synthesized working logic created when an agent reconciles conflicting definitions.
