build: adopting the new edgetest configuration, deprecating develop branch usage in CI

In this PR, I have

• removed develop from our GHA workflows,
• adopted the new edgetest configuration with dependency cooldowns,
• fixed a test that has failed since the introduction of test-level artifacts (no functionality needed to change).
