Dear all,
this PR backs up the prototype I showed into the dedicated branch, albeit in a fairly rough current state. Unfortunately, it still uses the v1 architecture as I did this before your changes. I'll refactor and test this when I find the time. Also, I did not yet test for equivalence to the CPU version, so take everything with a grain of salt, but I wanted to share the current state as early as possible so you can have a look :).
