## early benchmarks

these are preliminary numbers from a MacBook Pro (M1 Pro, 8 cores). more rigorous benchmarking on Linux servers is planned.

**test conditions**: 100k requests, 50 clients, pipeline depth 16 (except P=1 tests). all servers ran with persistence disabled.

**observations**:
- redis outperforms ember on this Mac — likely due to highly optimized ARM builds and years of macOS tuning
- ember's multi-core scaling is limited here because `redis-benchmark` is single-threaded
- proper Linux benchmarks with `memtier_benchmark` and parallel clients are needed for accurate multi-core comparison
