🌱 Ghost Garden

A game made for TOJam 2026

Themes: After You × The World Isn't Ending

About

You are the ghost of someone who has just passed away, left behind in the garden you loved. The world keeps moving — the sun still rises, the neighbour still walks to work — but your garden is starting to fade without anyone to tend to it.

You can't water the plants yourself. You can't call out. All you can do is gently nudge the world around you and hope someone notices.

Ghost Garden is a quiet first-person exploration game about letting go, and about the small ways we leave traces of ourselves behind.

How to Play

  • WASD — move around the garden
  • Mouse — look around
  • E or Left Click — nudge an object you're looking at (a crosshair glow indicates something can be nudged)

You have a limited number of nudges each day. Use them wisely.

The garden has 10 days before it fades away completely. Find a way to inspire your neighbour to take care of it before time runs out.

The Goal

Watch your neighbour's daily routine and figure out how to get their attention. There is a sequence of nudges that will lead them to notice the neglected garden — but you'll have to explore and experiment to discover it.

Not every nudge will do something meaningful. Some things just rustle in the wind. That's okay.

Win Condition

Guide your neighbour to notice the garden and decide to water it. The world keeps going — and so does the garden.

Lose Condition

Let 10 days pass without succeeding. The garden fades, and so does your last connection to it.
