What this does

Adds a top-level README.md for the OrcaX client — the repo currently has none, so the GitHub front page shows no overview.

The README covers:

  • The client-renders / engine-decides split with the companion Orca Engine
  • The composed home feed: billboard, rows, household Top 10, and the spotlight showcase
  • Playback (Media3/ExoPlayer + optional libmpv, AUTO quality behaviour), trailers, requests, and the rest of the client
  • Build instructions, the three product flavors, and the optional native extensions
  • An explicit statement of scope: self-hosted, bring-your-own-library, connects only to the server you configure

Diagrams

Four illustrations under .github/assets/ (the docs/ folder is gitignored, so assets live there instead). All are authored by hand as SVG — geometry and text only, no third-party artwork and no platform logos.

Notes

  • Documentation only. No code, build, or dependency changes.
  • Prepared with Claude Code assistance.

Introduce a top-level README for the OrcaX client covering the
client/engine split, the composed home feed (billboard, rows, Top 10,
spotlight showcase), playback, and build/flavor notes. Diagrams under
.github/assets are authored as SVG (no third-party artwork). Makes the
self-hosted, bring-your-own-library scope explicit.
