🚀 DevOps Portfolio

Welcome to my professional DevOps Portfolio!

This repository showcases my expertise across core DevOps domains, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Container Orchestration (Kubernetes), Monitoring, and Secrets Management.

The goal of this portfolio is to provide clear, actionable examples of real-world DevOps tasks and solutions, complete with artifacts and documentation.

📂 Repository Structure

The portfolio is organized into the following key directories:

🏗️ Core Demonstrations

1. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Files: terraform/main.tf, terraform/variables.tf, terraform/outputs.tf
  • Focus: Demonstrates how to define and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., VPCs, Subnets, Kubernetes Clusters) using Terraform.
  • Workflow: The github-actions/terraform-deploy.yml pipeline shows automated terraform plan and apply steps, including state locking and sensitive variable handling.

2. CI/CD & Automation

  • Files: github-actions/*.yml
  • Focus: Contains various workflows showcasing proficiency in different automation scenarios:
    • terraform-deploy.yml: Automated IaC deployment.
    • aks-deploy.yml: Rolling out application updates to a Kubernetes cluster and implementing horizontal scaling.
    • optimized-ci.yml: Techniques for reducing CI build times (e.g., caching, parallelism).

3. Kubernetes (k8s)

  • Files: k8s/deployment.yaml, k8s/hpa.yaml
  • Focus: Demonstrates how to define a robust application deployment, manage rolling updates, and configure auto-scaling using the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA).

4. Observability and Incident Management

  • Files: github-actions/monitor-alerts.yml
  • Focus: An example workflow or script demonstrating configuration for proactive monitoring, health checks, and integrating with alerting systems (e.g., Slack, PagerDuty) on key infrastructure events.

5. Documentation and Competency

  • Files: docs/STAR-examples.md, docs/architecture.png
  • Focus: Provides context for the technical solutions:
    • architecture.png: A high-level visual representation of the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline and resulting infrastructure.
    • STAR-examples.md: Stories detailing challenges, actions, and results (STAR format) for key projects undertaken.
