💡 What: Modified the empty state message for checkpoint list in the CLI. When no checkpoints are found, it now includes a helpful instruction: Use 'checkpoint create <name>' to create one. instead of just a dead end.
🎯 Why: To improve UX by avoiding dead-ends. A generic "No checkpoints found" empty state leaves the user without clear next steps. Providing the exact command to create the missing resource makes the interface more intuitive and actionable.
📸 Before/After:

  • Before: No checkpoints found.
  • After: No checkpoints found. Use 'checkpoint create <name>' to create one.
    Accessibility: N/A (CLI improvement)

Code Review

This pull request improves the user experience for the checkpoint list command by providing actionable guidance when no checkpoints are found. The implementation is straightforward and effective. However, the new behavior introduced is not covered by automated tests. I've added a specific comment regarding the need to add a test case to ensure the change is verifiable and to prevent future regressions.

While this is a great UX improvement, the new output message for an empty checkpoint list is not covered by automated tests. It's important to add a test to verify this new behavior and prevent future regressions.

Please add a test case to tests/test_cli_smoke.py that checks for this specific output when no checkpoints have been created. For example, you could add a test that calls main(['checkpoint', 'list']) and asserts that the new message is present in the output.
