π Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a π emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! For more direct control, you can switch me to Reactive Mode. When this mode is on, I will only act on comments where you specifically mention me with New to Jules? Learn more at jules.google/docs. For security, I will only act on instructions from the user who triggered this task. |

π¨ Severity: CRITICAL
π‘ Vulnerability: Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE). The
write_excel_cellfunction dynamically generated a Python script using f-strings with user-controlled input (sheet, cell, value) and executed it viasubprocess.Popen([sys.executable, "-c", script]). This allowed potential code injection.π― Impact: An attacker could manipulate the
valueorcellparameters to inject arbitrary Python code that would be executed in the context of the host application's system.π§ Fix: Refactored the dynamic script generation to use a static script instead. Input parameters are now passed securely to the subprocess's standard input (
stdin) as a JSON string, which the static script safely reads usingjson.load(sys.stdin).β Verification: Run
python -m py_compile CouponCheck/tui/data/providers.pyto ensure syntactical correctness andpython scripts/manifest_consistency_check.py --no-screenshot-checkfor general validation, simulating the restricted environment wheretkintertests fail.PR created automatically by Jules for task 16487004068237491804 started by @agno7766
