By the definitions:
The coronal plane is perpendicular to the ground and separates the front from (Anterior) the back (Posterior), so it corresponds to the Y-axis.
The sagittal plane separates the Left from the Right, so it corresponds to the X-axis.
And the next line from the function description also aligns with these definitions.
