A more hospitality-centered payment system, based on choice and feedback. Customers can offer tips without being pressured to do so. Pay with Revolut, no NFC needed.
As someone who has a part-time job in the hospitality industry, I felt the need to create an app that would let customers and workers acknowledge eachother. Workers must feel content about their hard work, and customers should be motivated to appreciate and empathize with their servers. When prompted for pay, the customer must type in a sum that is greater/equal to their bill's worth.
The concept of POSSible, in more detail, from:
a customer's perspective:
- I can see my own tab. I know exactly what I ordered, how much I need to pay for each thing.
- I can easily calculate my total bill.
- If I didn't like something I ordered, I can remove it from my tab, and I won't pay for it.
- I can pay my bill through RevolutPay.
a server's perspective:
- I can take action and discuss with the customer what went wrong if something is removed from their tab.
- This is a much better implementation than the classic "Leave a tip? 5% / 10% / 15%" written on the POS before amounting for the total, which feels extremely transactional.
- When the customer is in control of the bill total, they are more likely to pay an extra amount.
an owner's perspective:
- I want my coffee shop to be completely centered on hospitality. Removing any transactional-style behavior focuses on a more heart-driven atmosphere.
- I have trouble knowing what goes wrong sometimes. Receiving feedback is important, especially if it comes straight from the customer.
- Keeping track of the POS detailed reports and fiscal papers during each shift's closing can cause trouble sometimes. This app streamlines it.
