I'm a software engineer with Full Stack experience, currently focused on expanding my knowledge in database and backend development. I am based in Christchurch, New Zealand and open to both local and remote opportunities.
I have more than 22 years experience in IT as a System Engineer, including 3 years as a Manager. Recently I have obtained a NZQA Level 6 Certificate in Applied Software Development from Dev Academy Aotearoa. This program provided me with a strong foundation in software development, covering both frontend and backend technologies. I've thoroughly enjoyed the Human Skills module, which emphasised the importance of communication and collaboration, with plenty of practice on giving and receiving feedback, conflict resolution and retrospective analysis.
I have also gained valuable experience working on projects (collaborating with a team of 6 developers), doing pair programming and following Agile methodologies.
There was a big emphasis on code quality and testing. This experience has helped me develop a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the importance of delivering high quality code and integrating testing from day one.
