-I think the question is a bit too broad to tackle. But there are ways to make it more focused. What if you compare, the impact of 1 basket made in winning the game, and break that down by players making the baskets and figure out if it is worth paying extra $$$ for top players. The only thing about that is if you get a top player, they will take away from other players in terms of opportunities.
-I like that you are considering 3 different sports. Maybe consider making 3 vizs side by side showing similarities and differences across these sports.
-k-means is an interesting try. I'm surprised that there are not much differences across teams being offensive and defensive. I think this is because teams need both to succeed. I would try k-means on players because players specialize in offense and defense more.
-I like the hex bin graphs.
-Can you calculate for each goals scored on, what is the drop in pay a goalie experiences?
-I like the statistics based thinking you had in your explanations throughout your presentation.
