Hi, I'm David Gaitán

Software developer with 10+ years of experience building apps, WordPress plugins/themes, and backend systems that real businesses run on. I'm a PHP and Python developer, with strong knowledge of JavaScript and its ecosystem.

What I do

  • Build and maintain custom WordPress plugins and WooCommerce integrations
  • Design and build backend APIs with Laravel and Django, two frameworks I know well and use regularly
  • Connect WordPress and other platforms to third-party APIs (payments, CRMs, email providers, fulfillment)
  • Work across the stack when needed: JavaScript, ReactJS, VueJS, HTML/CSS

Cantoral App - I am currently building a cantoral app that will be a tool for musicians. This is a personal project and is still a work in progress. Building the API with Django (cantoral-api) and the frontend using NextJs (cantoral-front)

wp-mailable — A driver-based WordPress plugin for routing wp_mail() through different providers (SendGrid, Mailpit, and more) without touching the code that sends the email.

g-snippets — A WordPress plugin for injecting reusable content snippets into posts, with post-type targeting and a priority system, built on the Gutenberg editor and ACF.
