An old-school HTML5 video player project focused on simple, creative, and fun web experiences.
This repository started on April 23, 2022.
I am now back to actively developing this project.
The goal is simple: bring back classic internet-style video players built with clean and well-structured HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
I want to create multiple creative players with different layouts, structures, animations, and interaction styles.
Think:
- retro web vibes
- lightweight UI
- creative controls
- playful motion
- easy customization
- No complex systems
- No third-party API dependence
- Must run locally
- Independent and beginner-friendly code
- Maximum online dependency should be only the MP4 video source
If it cannot run locally in a straightforward way, it does not fit this project.
Contributions are welcome.
If you enjoy frontend experiments, retro-inspired interfaces, motion design, or clean JavaScript architecture, this project is for you.
You can contribute by:
- creating new player variants
- improving structure and readability
- adding animations and transitions
- improving accessibility and responsiveness
- fixing bugs while keeping the project simple
Open an issue, submit a PR, and help revive the classic web player spirit on GitHub.
