HIDMate (formerly HIDFader)

Map any HID controller - knobs, sliders, buttons, axes - to volume control, keyboard shortcuts, and mouse actions on Windows

Control volume, keyboard, and mouse using your HID devices. Turn any knob, slider, hat, or button on your controller into a way to control your apps - whether it's audio, keyboard input, or even mouse movement.

HIDMate lets you use any DirectInput-compatible controller - HOTAS throttles, flight sim controllers, USB gamepads, DJ controllers, accessibility devices - to control per-application volume, send keyboard inputs, and move the mouse on Windows. If you've ever wanted to turn a physical knob into a volume slider for Discord or Spotify, or map a HOTAS button to a keyboard shortcut, this is the tool.

✨ Features

  • Per-application volume control - bind inputs to a specific process (e.g. DCS.exe, discord.exe, spotify.exe)
  • Keyboard bindings - map HID inputs to keyboard keys for the selected application (app must be in focus)
  • Mouse bindings (global) - control mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling
  • HID / DirectInput support - buttons, POV hats, and analog axes from any compatible controller
  • Analog axis support - map throttles or sliders directly to values (e.g. volume or movement)
  • Modifier buttons - reuse the same controls for different actions depending on which modifiers are pressed
  • Configurable sensitivity - fine-tune how inputs behave
  • Single-file executable - no installation required

🎯 Who is this for?

  • Flight sim & space sim pilots - control per-game audio with your HOTAS throttle without alt-tabbing
  • Gamers - adjust Discord, Spotify, or game volume on the fly with a physical knob or slider
  • Streamers & content creators - manage audio levels across multiple apps using a hardware controller
  • Accessibility users - use alternative input devices to control keyboard, mouse, and volume
  • Anyone with a USB controller gathering dust - repurpose any gamepad, joystick, or HOTAS as a productivity tool

📋 Requirements

  • Windows 10 / 11
  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • Any DirectInput-compatible HID controller
  • Tested with Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle and HOTAS, Saitek Cyborg, and generic USB gamepads
