GIGASHARE

Share apps and files directly between devices over a local hotspot connection.

GIGASHARE lets you share installed Android apps, photos, videos, documents, and other files directly between nearby devices without requiring cloud storage or an internet connection.

Features

  • Share installed Android apps
  • Share photos, videos, documents, and other files
  • QR-code-based connection and transfer
  • Direct local device-to-device transfers
  • Works through the sender's hotspot
  • No cloud upload required
  • Dark and light themes
  • Claymorphism-inspired UI

How It Works

  1. The sender enables their mobile hotspot.
  2. The sender selects an app or file to share.
  3. GIGASHARE generates a QR code.
  4. The receiver scans the QR code.
  5. The receiver connects to the sender's hotspot.
  6. The transfer begins directly between the devices.

Important Notes

App sharing currently works best with APKs that are distributed as a single APK. Split APKs and Android App Bundles are not currently supported.

Tech Stack

  • Kotlin
  • Android
  • Jetpack Compose
  • Local Wi-Fi / Hotspot networking
