Thank you!Thank you for your pull request 😃 🤖 This automated message can help you check the rendered files in your submission for clarity. If you have any questions, please feel free to open an issue in {sandpaper}. If you have files that automatically render output (e.g. R Markdown), then you should check for the following:
Rendered Changes🔍 Inspect the changes: https://github.com/UoMResearchIT/Programming-With-Python/compare/md-outputs..md-outputs-PR-104 The following changes were observed in the rendered markdown documents: What does this mean?If you have source files that require output and figures to be generated (e.g. R Markdown), then it is important to make sure the generated figures and output are reproducible. This output provides a way for you to inspect the output in a diff-friendly manner so that it's easy to see the changes that occur due to new software versions or randomisation. ⏱️ Updated at 2026-04-28 15:46:07 +0000 |
I've created #105 for this action after this gets merged |
There was a problem hiding this comment.
I don't have edit access on the powerpoint and can't comment on the file, so making notes here.
- Make sure this presentation is labeled "in person" slides. We will need to maintain another version for online.
- Is it possible to have a download link to the presentation, rather than just linking to the github site? I think that would make it easier for students to access, and they need to download and open the pdf to be able to access the links (if they view it on github the links in the pdf don't work).
- Slide 6: please align to the left so the numbers are in a column
- Slide 7 & 8: please add paragraph spacing to make easier to read
- Slide 7: Add link to software Carpentries. Add link for the notes
- Slide 9: when I copy-paste the wget command from the pdf, there is no space between wget and the url, unclear why.
- Slide 9: could add something about checking contents of data/ after the unzip. If it looks fine do
rm python-intermediate-data.zip(to avoid overclutter, should probably go onto a new slide)
I'm currently having issues starting a Jupyter server - will see if it works eventually but I will open an issue if I can't do it by following the link in the presentation - seems to have been a browser issue, works in Chrome
@Scottan You should have access to it now, I hope - let me know if not. |

Resolves #103
Have also shared the powerpoint from which this PDF was exported with @Scottan (link for now is programming_with_python_slides.pptx - we might move it to somewhere else on Sharepoint).
Once this PR is accepted, the links on the training catalogue need to be updated.
