Add-ons which invoke functions defined by Misery are not obligated to adhere to the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2) or any other free software license. However, in the event that an add-on incorporates Misery code directly within its binarized PBO, or redistributes a version of Misery that has been altered, it is then classified as a derivative work. As such, it is legally mandated to be released under the stipulations of the GPL.
