SoundFood is a forward-thinking company that blends cutting-edge generative AI with cross-modal perception science to create fully immersive sensory experiences in fine-dining environments. Our patented “phygital” music-sommelier technology gives every table a bespoke audio bubble that perfectly complements the flavors of each dish.
At the heart of SoundFood is the Smart Lamp — a connected table-side device that turns a tasting menu into a synchronized audio-visual journey:
- Course-synced “sound bubbles” — as each dish is served, the lamp plays a soundtrack tailored to that course, designed to enhance its flavors and texture.
- AI-composed music — tracks are generated and curated with generative AI so the pairing for every dish is original and intentional.
- Restaurateur-friendly control — staff build menus, attach soundtracks, and run a live dining session from a simple on-device web interface, no technical skill required.
- Built for the room, not the lab — the device is engineered to run reliably on restaurant hardware and networks, online or off.
SoundFood is an end-to-end system spanning the table and the cloud:
- On-device experience — a self-contained application that drives the menu, playback, and live synchronization on each lamp.
- Custom device OS — a purpose-built Raspberry Pi OS image with safe over-the-air (OTA) updates, so the entire fleet improves without a site visit.
- Cloud platform — a fleet-management backend that handles device provisioning, music-catalog distribution, configuration, health telemetry, and staged update rollouts across every venue.
- Secure by design — devices and cloud communicate over authenticated, signed channels, with trust-on-first-use provisioning for each new lamp.
