RenderToolbox3 is developed by The RenderToolbox3 Team. The team includes:
David Brainard, RRL Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania
Nicolas Cottaris, Scientific Programmer in the Brainard Lab at the University of Pennsylvania
Benjamin Heasly, Programmer
If you make use of RenderToolbox3 in published research, please cite our methods paper which describes RenderToolbox3:
Heasly BS, Cottaris NP, Lichtman DP, Xiao B, Brainard DH, "RenderToolbox3: MATLAB tools that facilitate physically based stimulus rendering for vision research", J Vis. 2014 Feb 7, 14(2).
RenderToolbox3 has a predecessor, RenderToolbox2. RenderToolbox2 was developed by Daniel Lichtman, Bei Xiao, and David Brainard. RenderToolbox2 is no longer under development, supported, or easily available. Version 3 represents a rewrite from the ground up, but does borrow conceptual ideas from RenderToolbox2 and incorporate lessons learned from the development and use of RenderToolbox2.
