While reviewing this application, we noticed that a lot of the review activity was approvals of pull requests that could already have been merged without commit bit by using the merge bot. Documentation for how to do that is here. Beyond that, for a potential committer, we want to have a sense of how they are as a reviewer of others' work in Nixpkgs. As it stands, there haven't been enough recent substantive reviews for us to see that. We'd be happy to review an application again at a later date. |

Thank you @wolfgangwalther my recent time effort was on other projects (like the mentioned Obsidiant Covenant, BlackArch and DEF CON stuff), that's the reason all those Nix PRs and issues are concentrated in a short time starting from 2024. Of course, if this nomination would have been accepted, I could be more committed to NixOS project, but it's ok, I respect your decisions. Cheers |
I nominate @D3vil0p3r.
@D3vil0p3r Is the creator and founder of Athena OS and Athena Nix (uses custom NixOS modules).
Athena OS has 2 flavor, a NixOS base or Arch Linux base (chosen at installation)
this new Linux distro is for cybersecurity enthusiasts and students, providing a quick way for new users to use a preconfigured environment with sane defaults.
The NixOS base to this day relies heavily on Nixpkgs.
He has continuously worked on improving the cybersecurity related packages and leading forks of unmaintained cybersecurity old tools (migrating them to from Python2 to Python3, etc.) in the Obsidian-Covenant.
Thus, updating and reintroducing deprecated packages with maintained/up-to-date dependencies and code in Nixpkgs to provide a similar set of pentesting packages as Kali Linux.
