This PR includes a refactor of the validation workflow for resources.
Validation is an automatic process that is triggered whenever a resource is updated. This PR cleans up the code and also simplifies handling of validation updates. Since these are tied to item updates, validation is now triggered directly by each update operation and is not handled as a separate message.
