Welcome to the gridgen wiki!

The gridgen software package was created for generating grids for WAVEWATCH III® using MATLAB. For instructions, please see the README when cloning the software and the gridgen manual (Download Only).

To compile the manual, the images folder should be downloaded from:

wget ftp://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/tempor/ww3ftp/gridgen.images.tar.gz

and untar under the manual directory:

tar -xvzf gridgen.images.tar.gz

The WAVEWATCH III® code is also on github and can be found at https://github.com/NOAA-EMC/WW3
