Program Outcomes
After taking the class, students should be empowered to work towards building anything that they envision. They will be able to find the resources to execute that project on their own based on what they’ve learned. Leveraging tools they’ve learned in the class:
Helping foster the hacker mindset
Knowledge and context to be able build things
The course should also change their way of thinking reinforcing:
Confidence in their own ability to learn new things
New appreciation the value of teaching others
Engineering is very creative and empowering
Engineering is something for people like me (anyone can be an engineer)
Measuring Success
Core metrics for measuring program success:
Completion rate
How many finish 6 weeks? How many stay an additional 2 weeks?
Involvement rate
How many alumni give back after the program?
Pre/Post surveys:
"How confident are you in your ability to learn something new?"
