How to Use

  • Click the 🎨 Effect button in the extension popup or standalone window

📥 Installation

🔹 Microsoft Edge (Chromium)

  1. Download the archive: SoundForge_EQ_Edge_v3.22.8.zip
  2. Extract to any folder
  3. Open Edge → edge://extensions/
  4. Enable "Developer mode"
  5. Click "Load unpacked" → select the folder

🔹 Firefox ESR — Option 1 (ZIP)

  1. Download the archive: SoundForge_EQ_Firefox_v3.22.8.zip
  2. Extract to any folder
  3. Open Firefox → about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
  4. Click "Load Temporary Add-on"

🔹 Firefox ESR — Option 2 (XPI) — Quick Install

  1. Download the XPI file: soundforge_equalizer-3.22.8.xpi
  2. Drag and drop the .xpi file into an open Firefox window
  3. Click "Add" to install instantly

Note: If Firefox blocks the installation, go to about:config → search for xpinstall.signatures.required → set to false.

Important: For permanent installation in Firefox, signing in the Mozilla Add-ons Store is required.

To disable signature verification (for testing):

  1. Open Firefox and go to about:config
  2. Search for xpinstall.signatures.required
  3. Double-click to set it to false
  4. Restart Firefox
  5. Go to about:addons → gear icon ⚙️ → "Install Add-on From File..."
  6. Select the manifest.json file from the extracted folder

Audio Processing Pipeline

  1. Capture: HTMLMediaElement.captureStream() → MediaStream
  2. Source: AudioContext.createMediaStreamSource() → MediaStreamAudioSourceNode
  3. Analyzer: AnalyserNode for spectrum visualization
  4. Gain: GainNode for volume control (0% – 800%)
  5. Hard Mute: Secondary GainNode for instant silence at 0%
  6. Bass: BiquadFilterNode (lowshelf @ 100Hz, ±12 dB)
