Cable Selection Web Application

The web application was created during the 24-hour BIT Festival Hackathon on December 2-3, 2023, by a 4-person team. It aims to simplify the selection of low-voltage cables based on load specifications, considering parameters such as load current, load power, environmental conditions, and installation methods.

For more information about the event, visit BIT Festival Hackathon.

Backend:

  • Dominik Szczepanik
  • Jakub Opiełka

Frontend:

  • Michał Moryc
  • Rafał Maciończyk

Mobile Application:

  • Rafał Maciończyk

Technologies Used:

  • Java: Core programming language.
  • Spring Framework: Utilized for building a robust and scalable web application.
  • H2 Database: Employed as the underlying database to manage and store data efficiently.

Features:

The application accurately calculates load current, derives final current values based on correction factors, and determines the appropriate cable type considering CPR directive requirements, installation location, conductor material, and maximum operating temperature.

The output includes selected cable details, input conditions, and links to NKT product pages for further reference.
