For students of economics, one of the exciting reasons to use ML is because it has opened up new avenues of data. From image to text, new avenues are open to economic analysis and treatment. This repo contains modules that break down Python's NLP module-NLTK, how to scrape the web for data, how to link to the Twitter API and Sentiment analysis. It also contains code from an ongoing research project (joint with two of my colleagues) where the novelty is the data-we use state of the state speeches to predict market movements
