💡 What:

  • Refactored the GitHub Actions script to fetch commits, pull requests, and issues concurrently using Promise.all.
  • Replaced redundant new Date() object creations in the pull request filter with direct ISO 8601 string comparisons.

🎯 Why:

  • The previous implementation fetched data sequentially, leading to unnecessary wait times as each network request had to complete before the next began.
  • Frequent new Date() instantiations within filter loops add micro-overhead that can be avoided with lexicographically correct string comparisons for standardized timestamps.

📊 Impact:

  • Reduces the data gathering phase's network latency by approximately 66% (from ~3x RTT to ~1x RTT).
  • Slightly improves CPU efficiency by avoiding redundant object allocations.

🔬 Measurement:

  • Theoretical RTT reduction: Sum(t1, t2, t3) -> Max(t1, t2, t3).
  • Verified script syntax using node --check.

- Parallelize independent GitHub API calls for commits, PRs, and issues using Promise.all.
- Optimize PR filtering by using direct ISO 8601 string comparison instead of new Date() instantiation.
- Update workflow documentation to reflect performance improvements.
- Initialize performance journal in .jules/bolt.md.
