Gateways 2026
The FacultyHack@Gateways 2026 is a hands-on virtual program designed for faculty interested in integrating High Performance Computing (HPC) into their courses.
Participants will work in teams to adapt HPC tools for classroom use and will leave with ready-to-implement course materials, supporting datasets, and identified computational resources.
Each faculty participant is paired with a technical mentor to guide development and implementation.
- A fully revised course outline with implementation timeline
- Access to HPC resources for teaching and research
- A dedicated Gateways community mentor
- Opportunities to collaborate with HPC educators and technical experts
- Enhanced curriculum with real-world computational applications
- 10 faculty participants across disciplinary areas
- Team-based collaboration
- Guided mentorship throughout the program
- Focus on practical, deployable course outcomes
To successfully complete the program and receive the honorarium, participants must:
- Attend all HPC training sessions
- Participate in the Gateways 2026 Conference (travel support provided)
- Present a poster of revised course materials at the conference
- Write a blog post on their SGX3 curriculum project for publication
π Participants who complete all four challenges will receive a $500 honorarium
Participants will leave with:
- A revised, HPC-enhanced course ready for deployment
- Structured assignments and supporting materials
- Mentorship connections for continued development
- Integration pathways for HPC into their institution
