Kill Cam

Ever die in Old School RuneScape and have no idea what just happened? Kill Cam records the moments leading up to your death and lets you replay them, so you can see exactly what went wrong.

What it does

When you die, Kill Cam automatically saves a short recording of the ticks leading up to your death. A replay panel opens on the right side of your client, where you can step through the recording tick by tick.

Each tick in the replay shows you:

  • A top-down map — your position (blue), nearby NPCs (yellow), other players (green), and hazardous objects (orange) are all shown as colored squares on a small tile grid. Each entity's name is drawn above it. Wall and obstacle tiles appear as solid black squares so you can see what was blocking your path. A yellow line traces the path you were walking toward your destination.
  • Your HP — how much health you had at that moment.
  • Your active prayer — which overhead prayer you were using, if any.
  • What hit you — each source of damage that landed on that tick, including the amount, the type (damage, block, poison, venom, disease, or heal), and the name of what hit you.
  • Where you were clicking — your move destination is marked with a yellow X on the map, and any NPC or object you clicked on is marked with a red X, so you can see your inputs alongside the incoming damage.

How to use it

Kill Cam runs automatically in the background — there's nothing to start. Just play normally. When you die, the replay panel opens on its own.

Playback controls:

  • Play / Pause — automatically step through the replay at your chosen speed. Playback stops automatically at the last tick.
  • < and > — step backward or forward one tick at a time.
  • Speed buttons (0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x) — control how fast auto-play moves through ticks.
  • Tick list — shows a summary of each tick (e.g. "Took 18 damage from Vorkath"). Click any entry to jump directly to that tick.
  • Close Replay — dismiss the replay and go back to standby.

If you die again while a replay is showing, the panel will automatically load your new death.
