Hi there I’m Paul Etim

🦹‍♂️ About Me

I am a Blockchain Security Researcher, Smart Contract Developer, and Fullstack Engineer.

My work sits at the intersection of smart contract security, vulnerability research, and Web3 application development. I started from frontend and fullstack engineering, building production web applications across fintech, edtech, healthtech, and e-commerce, and have since grown deeply into blockchain security, Solidity development, and audit contest research.

  • 🛡️ I research vulnerabilities in Solidity, Rust, Move, Clarity, C++, and C codebases.
  • 🔍 I participate in Web3 security contests and bug bounty triaging across platforms like Code4rena and Cantina.
  • ⚡ I have found High/Medium severity bugs across Web3 security platforms.
  • 🛠️ I build and test smart contracts using Solidity, Foundry, Hardhat, ethers.js, WAGMI, and web3React.
  • 🤖 I’m interested in AI-assisted security research, audit automation, and developer tooling for smart contract analysis.
  • ✍️ I also explore technical content writing and enjoy breaking down complex blockchain concepts.

🔒 Security Focus

My current security interests include:

  • Smart contract auditing
  • DeFi protocol security
  • Lending and liquidation logic
  • Token accounting and rounding bugs
  • Signature verification and access control
  • Cross-chain and ecosystem-specific bugs
  • AI-assisted vulnerability discovery
  • Manual review of Solidity, Rust, Move, Clarity, C++, and C codebases

🏆 Security, Hackathons & Grants

  • Found ** High/Medium severity bugs** across Web3 security platforms
  • Security Intern at Nethermind
  • Contributor to manual audits and AI-scanned finding triage
  • 1st Place — Flare Hackathon
  • Best Project — Surreal Buildathon
  • 2nd Best Project — Avalanche EERC20 Bounty
  • 2nd Best Project — Vincent AI Agent Hackathon

💻 Engineering Background

Before focusing deeply on blockchain security, I worked as a fullstack developer building scalable web applications across multiple industries.

I have worked with:

React · Next.js · Vue · Svelte · TypeScript · JavaScript
Node.js · NestJS · GraphQL · REST APIs
PostgreSQL · MongoDB
AWS S3 · CloudFront · Docker · Jenkins · GitHub

This fullstack background helps me understand not just smart contracts, but the full user-facing systems that interact with them.

⚡ Fun Fact

I enjoy finding bugs, building products, writing short stories, and reading technical articles. Security research feels like debugging with higher stakes — and better stories.
