The Lightweight Tool for Minecraft Main Menu Screen Panoramas
Convert any 360° equirectangular image into Minecraft-ready skybox faces no Photoshop needed.
DuxLay 360 Splitter is a clean, modern, and efficient utility designed to take any 360° panoramic image (equirectangular projection) and instantly slice it into the six required cubic faces (panorama_0 through panorama_5) needed for Minecraft custom resource packs
It is designed for creators who want to transform their game’s title screen into a truly immersive experience without the headache of manual cropping or complex image manipulation software.
Instant Conversion: Just load your 360° image, and the tool will automatically handle the slicing, orientation, and perfect grid layout required by Minecraft.
Modern UI: A clean, user-friendly interface that includes an automatic Dark Mode, ensuring your eyes stay comfortable while you work.
Multilingual Support: Seamlessly switch between Spanish and English to suit your workflow.
Zero Dependencies Required: Since this is a portable tool, you don't need to install complex libraries or heavy compilers; just run the .exe and start creating.
Lightweight: Designed to be extremely efficient, even on low-end systems.
Using DuxLay 360 Splitter is a straightforward process designed to save you time and effort.
Start by launching the application. The clean, modern interface is ready for your 360° panorama.
Once your image is loaded, you can precisely adjust the center point using the sliders or by clicking/dragging directly on the preview. This ensures that your panorama_0 (the front-facing view) is perfectly aligned with your desired visual focus.

The sidebar allows you to set your preferred resolution (1080x1080 is recommended for Minecraft) and select your target output folder.
Simply hit the "Generate Panorama" button. The tool will quickly process your image, and you'll receive a confirmation once all 6 cubic faces are successfully created. ![Generation Success]
Navigate to your chosen output folder to find your perfectly sliced panorama_0.png through panorama_5.png files, ready to be dropped into your Minecraft resource pack.

Since this is an open-source tool and does not carry a costly commercial digital certificate, Windows SmartScreen might display an "Unknown Publisher" or "Unsafe file" warning when launching the .exe for the first time.
This is a false positive. To run the app, simply click on "More Info" and then "Run Anyway". Since the complete Python source code (DuxLay360Splitter.py) is fully exposed right here in this repository, anyone can inspect every single line of code to verify its absolute security and privacy.
I wanted a custom 360° panorama for my Minecraft Title Screen. Simple enough, right?
Wrong. Every tutorial I found involved Photoshop, a bunch of manual screenshots, stitching everything together by hand... it was a whole ordeal. And the few tools that existed online were either broken, abandoned, or just didn't do what I needed. I literally searched for hours and found nothing. Which honestly surprised me, like, how does this not exist yet?
So I did the only reasonable thing: I built it myself
Here's the thing though I'm not a developer. Like, at all. I'm just a regular dude who wanted a cool loading screen for Minecraft and ended up coding at 4am trying to make it work. This is my first ever piece of software. I don't have a CS degree, I don't have years of experience, I'm not even studying anything close to programming. I just had an idea and refused to let it go
I built this with the help of AI mainly Claude and Gemini learning on the fly, debugging stuff I didn't fully understand, and slowly turning a chaotic mess of code into something that actually works. And honestly? I'm really proud of it
I'm open-sourcing it because throughout my life I've used so many free tools built by people I'll never meet, tools that just existed on the internet ready to solve my exact problem This is my way of giving that back. If even one person finds this and saves themselves two hours of Photoshop pain, then it was worth it Now you don't have to suffer through those tutorials. You're welcome 😄
This project started as a personal challenge, and I’d love to hear your feedback! If you find any bugs or have ideas for new features, feel free to open an issue or submit a pull request. Let's make this tool the best in the Minecraft community.
