Getting Started
Welcome!
This guide will teach you some of the basics of Brewin' And Chewin'. If you're starting out on a new world, adding the mod to an existing instance, or deciding if it fits your modpack, this guide is for you!
The contents of this guide assume you're using the latest version, with the latest version of Farmer's Delight, with the default configs. If you're on a modpack, things may differ.
This guide assumes you general understand what Farmer's Delight is about, if not, please read up on it here.
Recipe screenshots on this page were provided through EMI's recipe screenshot feature.
Similarly to Farmer's Delight, this mod does not have a guide book. If you'd like to play by yourself, make sure to check the Advancements!
You can press the L key (by default) to open the Advancements screen in-game, and check the Keg branch to figure out what to do next. The tab is enabled as soon as you pick up any items.
If you are unsure on recipes, you may always check the vanilla recipe book through the green book in the crafting menu (recipes unlock as you play), or by using a recipe viewer mod such as JEI through your inventory menu.
Feel free to experiment on your own! The mod is pretty simple, and not knowing everything right away is part of the fun.
Brewin' and Chewin' introduces new mechanics for when you're settled in with the game. To start fermenting, you'll want a Keg.
As soon as you get a Keg, you may enter the world of fermenting. Here you may create drinks, cheese, and light snacks.
You can put up to 4 ingredients inside a keg, with an additional slot for fluids such as water, honey, and milk, which can be filled through the container slot. You will also want to keep the temperature of the keg in mind, which may change depending on the biome you're in or blocks surrounding it. If the ingredients, fluid and temperature match, the keg will start brewing.
Most drinks require a Tankard to be served in, and cheeses require Honeycomb to be served. The finished fluid slot will tell you which item to use. Simply add the container to the corresponding slot or right-click the pot with it to take a serving!
Kegs may be mined to transport the fluid inside for the sake of moving fluids between workstations. Kegs may only hold 1000 millibuckets of fluids at a time. (approximately 4 bottles, or 1 bucket)
With this concluded. Make sure to keep out an eye for ingredients you may not have cared for before, such as Mushrooms, Seeds and Sugar, as they are important for fermenting foods and drinks.
