OB-CAS R2.0.0 Release Notes (27 May 2026)

Release 2.0.0 Highlights:

  • APIs for the OB-CAS SDK

    • OpenTSDB
  • OB-CAS Apps

    • Persistency App v2 : App that extends persisten app v1 with performance monitoring metrics persistency capability (openTSDB) and associated alarm LC management used in conjunction with other apps

    • Metrics Processor App : Monitors real-time metric sample values consumed via KAFKA and issues TCA when corresponding smart threholds are exceeded.

    • Threshold Setting App : Calculates periodically new high and low thresholds for metrics via historical data retrieved from OpenTSDB

    • Smart Threshold and TCA Visualizer App : Web application allows to show dynamically set thresholds over a configurable past period for selected set of metrics for selected ONUs, as well as the TCAs

    • Persistency App : App that perists data in databases, and is used in conjunction with other apps

    • Alarm Correlation App : Monitors the alarms (and other notifications) originated from devices (ONUs and OLTs), and aims to correlate these alarms based on some common properties (elements)

    • Alarm Correlation Visualizer App : Web application allows to show the alarms correlations and the individual alarms in different tables with the possibility to select any of them and visualize on a map that contains the whole topology.

    • BAA Device Manager UI App : The BAA device manager UI App is custom defined specifically to show the devices under control of the OB-BAA platform

  • OB-CAS Sandbox/Simulation Environment

    • A simulation environment is available based on OB-BAA core functionality (persistent management agent) along with OLT/ONT simulators

The objective of the Open Broadband-CloudCO Application Software Development Kit (OB-CAS) project is to lower the barriers for developers to embed their software applications in a CloudCO/access management environment, creating a network management application ecosystem for the broadband industry.
