Description

With this configuration Dependabot (:dependabot:) should update both, the Kotlin and KSP related dependencies in one go, on a single Dependabot related PR.

FYI: Using the applies-to key is optional. If the applies-to key is absent from a set of grouping rules, it defaults to version-updates for backwards compatibility. I chose to use applies-to in order to be explicit about this and avoid any confusion related to the defaults.

For more info see: Configuration options for the dependabot.yml file -> groups

Testing Instructions

FYI: The very same configuration was already tested on JP/WPAndroid and works as expected (Config PR -> Dependabot PR).

Checklist

  • If this is a user-facing change, I have added an entry in CHANGELOG.md
  • Ensure the linter passes (./gradlew spotlessApply to automatically apply formatting/linting)
  • I have considered whether it makes sense to add tests for my changes
  • All strings that need to be localized are in modules/services/localization/src/main/res/values/strings.xml
  • Any jetpack compose components I added or changed are covered by compose previews
  • I have updated (or requested that someone edit) the spreadsheet to reflect any new or changed analytics.

I have tested any UI changes... N/A

With this configuration Dependabot should update both, the 'Kotlin' and
'KSP' related dependencies in one go, on a single Dependabot related PR.

FYI: Using the 'applies-to key' is optional. If the 'applies-to key' is
absent from a set of grouping rules, it defaults to 'version-updates'
for backwards compatibility. I chose to use 'applies-to' in order to be
explicit about this and avoid any confusion related to the defaults.

PS: With this configuration in place, the 'ksp' update can be now
removed from the ignored list.
