mejiro1 is a pipeline to simulate space telescope images of
galaxy-galaxy strong gravitational lenses built
on SLSim, lenstronomy, pyHalo, GalSim, and romanisim. It can produce detailed simulated images and can scale to large datasets suitable for neural networks. The primary science case is characterizing dark matter substructure via galaxy-scale strong gravitational lensing.
Note
mejiro is used to generate large datasets of simulated Roman images for the Roman Strong Lens Data Challenge.
Install mejiro by following these instructions in the documentation.
Important
"The Roman View of Strong Gravitational Lenses" (Wedig et al. 2025) was produced with mejiro v1.0.0. To review that version of the code, click here.
To see how mejiro works, see the pipeline walkthrough notebook: examples/pipeline_walkthrough.ipynb.
