AsterIDE 🌸
A Simple Text Editor written in Rust, made for Femboys 🌸
1. Why AsterIDE?
I made AsterIDE as a fun side project with one thing in mind: to
make a silly text editor.
2. Installation.
macOS.
Apple could not verify "AsterIDE" is free of malware that may
harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
Because we do not have $100 / A$150 to spend on Apple Developer
certification (especially for a side project), this application
is not signed and will not be signed.
To bypass Gatekeeper and run this app unsigned:
- Open System Settings (formerly System Preferences)
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll to the bottom
- Re-open the application
- Click "Open Anyway"
If you still need help, or still cannot install AsterIDE
you can read more information at https://docs.asteride.dev/troubleshooting
Written in Rust with love by Playfairs.

3.A. What is Aster and what makes it different from AsterIDE?
AsterIDE is a full IDE written in Rust. It started as a joke project
but evolved into a more serious development environment over time.
Aster, on the other hand, is a simpler text editor focused on speed,
minimalism, and writing text without extra complexity.
4. Which one should I use?
Use AsterIDE if you are developing software, managing projects, or
need advanced editing features.
Use Aster if you are writing notes, documents, or prefer a simpler,
more focused text editor.
