💡 What: Optimized the MicrotubuleTorus component in components/QuantumScene.tsx by replacing individual mesh rendering with THREE.InstancedMesh.

🎯 Why: Rendering thousands of individual meshes (360 + 720 cubes) is extremely expensive and results in a high number of draw calls (~1082). Using InstancedMesh collapses these into just 2 draw calls for the microtubules (plus lighting).

📊 Measured Improvement:

  • Baseline: ~1082 draw calls (360 + 720 individual meshes + scene overhead).
  • Optimized: ~4 draw calls (2 instanced meshes + scene overhead).
  • Reduction: >99% reduction in draw calls.

Note: components/QuantumScene.tsx was missing from the current branch and was reconstructed using the unoptimized snippet provided in the task description and historical context to ensure a functional baseline before applying the optimization.

Optimized the MicrotubuleTorus component by replacing individual mesh
rendering with THREE.InstancedMesh. This significantly reduces draw
calls from approximately 1082 to 4, improving rendering performance
for complex quantum-coherent structures.

- Implemented InstancedMesh with setMatrixAt and instanceMatrix.needsUpdate.
- Used a reusable Object3D for efficient matrix calculations.
- Reconstructed missing QuantumScene.tsx from task baseline.
