[1.21.10] Strange crash when recording with flashback

The mod seems to be causing random crashes when I record my gameplay with flashback. It seems to be in a range which happens too, cause it happens pretty early after hitting the record button.

I reported the issue to the developer of flashback in case it may be that mod which has a problem. I was suggested to update flashback and try a few other recommended solutions, and the crash would still happen. A few minutes later, a staff member pointed out in the log file that its homeostatic which is crashing.

This is not a Homeostatic bug. If the game thread hangs because another mod is abusing resources on the main game thread, then the game can crash and hang on any mod trying to do a lot on the main thread. Unfortunately, Homeostatic is one of those mods that requires a lot of calculations. Bluemap in 1.21.10+ also has this issue, as they aren't sharing resources, but hogging actual game sources. This is because the Minecraft engine changed a bit. They need to update how they do things so as not to be reliant on the main game thread, or it can cause crashes due to resource competition. Essentially, they need to redesign their mod. This is an actual Minecraft mod that lets you do things in the game while it is running. They need to use resources outside the game engine to achieve what they are trying to do, or it will just result in lots of random crashes (which is why they were so quick to suggest solutions, as it is an issue).

Looking at the log, it appears to be an out-of-memory error. Do you have enough memory allocated?

That said, I will investigate this failure and see if I can add a try/catch there. It will likely fail in other ways for some other mod, though.

I have allocated 8 gb of ram to the instance, so this shouldn't happen

However, 8GB for Minecraft with bunch of mods nowadays DO may cause oom error, since many mods has indivdual and unique calculation ways. And, some big mods (e.g. Valkyrien Skies) have terrible gc or mem-leak problems. Both mod itself and occasional mem-leak will make 8GB hard to play. Without detailed full log and mod list, we do have reasons to doubt is there some oom error.

the log contains all the mods I used in that instance aswell... it is a full log generated by the crash error.

Sorry for my eye blind.

I noticed there is voxy mod in your pack. This mod however makes better performance than Distant Horizion, but, as I known, these LOD mods will take lots of memories, since they need lots of chunk data. Maybe it caused this problem.

And so, obviously this couldnt be Homeostatic's fault.
