I was looking at possibly trying this. I just had a sensor failure, and was looking for something that would alert me when the numbers are insanely out of range, or completely gone. I saw the notes for min/max/equal...would you consider range and non-values or absent entirely?

I’m in the process of ‘rehoming’ my extensions. Along with moving the repositories, I am working on updating documentation and install code. This extension’s documentation and install code is very outdated. Here is an example configuration that I use. It alerts when values go out of range, are not equal to a value, or are not in an archive record.

Would you consider generalizing it so the notification mechanism could be extended? I've been playing with ntfy and others, for example.

I’d be open to it. I would depend on how much new code, etc.

Most notification platforms are simple http post requests with a token

Ntfy is my current favorite due self hosting capabilities but if you allow templating the request you could allow for anything

I am working on a similar problem in PHP for a project of mine. I've been working on a design to separate into 3 pieces.

• The code that actually sends the notification
• The code that triggers a notification
• A third, future experimental piece to cluster notifications.

If you separate out the sending from the triggering, you should be able to add different notification providers in future flexibly.

Yeah, that is the plan. Thanks for the pointer to ntfy.
I will probably close this issue and open a separate one for supporting different providers. When I get to that point, I will probably create a new, better named, repository.
I’d be interested in how your clustering experiment turns out.
